Health Declines Due to Old Age and Health Complications

Former President Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, is facing a challenging battle for his health after 16 months in hospice care. The 99-year-old Carter, who is the oldest living president in U.S. history, entered hospice care in December 2022 due to complications from age and health issues. His condition remains serious, according to a statement from the Carter Center.

Carter, who served from 1977 to 1981, has had a long and distinguished career. As president, he focused on human rights, peace, and social justice. He established the Peace Corps and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his work to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts.
