Southgate makes final decision on 26 players

England manager Gareth Southgate has named his final 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar. There are several notable absentees, including Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho and Tottenham defender Eric Dier.

The squad includes experienced players such as captain Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, and Jordan Henderson, as well as promising youngsters like Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka.

Southgate said he was "very pleased" with the squad he has selected and believes they have a "great chance" of success in Qatar.

"We have a good mix of experience and youth, and I think we have a squad that is capable of going all the way.

"We know it will be a tough tournament, but we are confident in our ability to compete with the best teams in the world.

"We are excited about the challenge and we can't wait to get started."

England will face Iran, the United States, and Wales in Group B at the World Cup. They will open their campaign against Iran on November 21.
